Mozzarella in Carrozza

These traditional southern Italian fried cheese sandwiches are stringy, cheese and absolutely delicious. The name basically means “mozzarella in a carriage” referring to the bread which carries it inside as they are fried, melting it slowly and creating a sinful snack.

INGREDIENTS

• 8 King’s Hawaiian Rolls (or small hamburger buns)
• 226g = 8oz Fresh Mozzarella*
• Prosciutto (optional)
• 2 eggs
• Breadcrumbs
• Canola or extra virgin olive oil to fry

*Do not get the one that come in water, as this one will make your sandwiches too soggy.

PROCEDURE

Eat while they are still warm and enjoy the stringy cheese goodness!
