“Apple Pie” Bircher Müesli

Bircher Muesli is basically the Swiss version of the now very popular “overnight oats”. This is a super healthy packed with nutritional goodness Muesli that can be made in large quantities (omitting the wet ingredients) and stored in an airtight container until you are ready to turn it into Bircher by adding the grated apple, honey and almond milk.

• 1 ½ cups = 150g = 5oz Old fashioned oats
• 1/8 cup = 20g = 1oz Steel cut oats
• 1 ½ T. = 17g = 0.5oz Pumpkin seeds
• ¼ cup = 25g = 1oz Toasted coconut flakes (sweetened or unsw. your choice)
• 1 cup (about) = 24g = 1oz Freeze dried Granny Smith apples
• ½ tsp Cinnamon

Nuts: 1 cup total of a mix. I use:

• 42g = 1.5oz Almonds
• 20g = 0.70oz Walnuts

For every ½ cup of Muesli (50g = 1.8oz) I use:
• 3T = 14g = 0.5oz Grated apple (your favorite at hand)
• 2tsp Honey (or agave, or maple syrup…)
• ¼ + 1/8 cup = 94g = 3.3oz Almond milk (or whichever milk you love)

Serve cold or warm with some fresh berries and maybe another drizzle of sweet honey. Enjoy!
